Hey All,

Been pretty busy lately. First, I'm elated that I had an opportunity to adapt Jennifer Laumann's original idea for what I coined "From Geek to Chic" for the Doritos Crash The Super Bowl Ad. We've got a ton of hits and need a ton more to keep us in the Top Tier of the Competition. Last checked, we were in the Top 8 % of over 4,000 entries.

Also, I've been busy working on Fallen (The Revolution). We've been allotted the largest space at the Esquire Theater for this Saturday, November 28th. We gotta fill 200 seats, so if you're in the Ohio/Kentucky/Indiana area, come out and support the hottest web series in the Midwest. All sales go to completing Fallen and getting us to LA to pitch the concept in 2010. And if you can't make it out, watch our Trailer on YouTube.

More soon on the plays I'm directing in 2010 and my new short AMERICAN FAMILY slated for a Spring 2010 production starring Michele A. Fink and Andre Michele.

Hey Everyone,

An old friend published her first novel that's available on Amazon entitled October's Promise . I'm incredibly excited for her and wanted to share the news with you. She was a terrific mentor for me early in my writing career, so kudos to her for making her dream come true!

Synopsis:
Just because parts of her life are unsatisfactory and dull, there's no reason for Libby Jackson to bolt for New Hampshire, even if she did just receive a large inheritance from a mysterious source. But she does just that. The urban comforts of New York quickly seem light years away when her journey is hampered by cars that won't start, locks that won't turn and a strange dog that has decided that Libby would be the perfect owner.

Quinn Barnett is in no mood for damsels in distress. Her reasons for partaking of New England's fall colors are deeply personal and painful. She's promised to do one thing on this trip, and falling in love isn't it. Once her mission is accomplished she's moving on--if only she can start some cars, unlock some doors and get that bothersome stray to leave her alone.

The golden shores of a beautiful New England lake and the glory of October's sunsets should create the perfect stage for falling in love, unless two stubborn women decide to keep the wrong promises.

Bella Books proudly presents this refreshing, new voice in lesbian romance!
Hey Everyone,

Okay, it's been really great. First, I just wrapped my third novel. The title...? Ya know I can't go and reveal just yet. I'm co-writing a One Hour Drama with producer Shawn Maus and...I'm stoked to hear about the great review from Kirkus for Linda Sanders-Wells debut picture book Maggie's Monkeys (Illustrated by Abby Carter).
__________________________

KIRKUS

A family of pink polar monkeys has moved into the refrigerator, and Maggie's older brother cannot fathom why the entire family is catering to the imagination of his still-thumb-sucking younger sister. But no one will listen to his protests, and Mom simply says, "Sometimes it's hard to know what's real." When he can't beat them, he joins them, but his imagination is just not up to Maggie's standards. However sick of monkey business he is, though, when his friends threaten his sister's peace-of-mind, he become Horton-like and protects both the pink monkeys and his sister. In her children's debut, Sanders-Wells wonderfully encapsulates the difficulties of being a middle child-simultaneously too old and too young. Carter's masterful facial expressions reflects this inner battle. Her gouache artwork is done in a bright, tropical palette that emphasizes the imaginative theme. While pink polar monkeys may not exist, what is very real is the love and loyalty of a big brother. A humorous tale sure to make siblings smile, even as they inwardly groan. (Picture book. 3-8)

_________________________________________

The book releases April 14, 2009 and will be available right here on Amazon!

http://www.amazon.com/Maggies-Monkeys-Linda-Sanders-Wells/dp/0763633267/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236625062&sr=8-1

While it received great reviews from Publisher's Weekly, School Library Journal, Booklist and Amoxcili (to name a few), it hasn't found its way into the ears of many. The reality is that some books are marketed more than others. That's where word of mouth can make all the difference.

My shout out to you is if you're a librarian who has read "Feels Like Home" and deems it worthy of chat, please give it a shot. Whether or not it brings home the gold from ALA results, I hope "Feels Like Home" can reach into as many people as possible. But that happens one person at a time.

It's been 40 years since S.E. Hinton began a revolution to change the face of YA literature. As far as I know, "Feels Like Home" is the first book to intertwine Hinton's "The Outsiders" into a concrete thread for a YA novel. Help keep Hinton's "The Outsiders" alive with the fresh spin of my novel "Feels Like Home."

Grass roots really can make a difference. Thanks and as always, rock the word!

e.

It has been forever since I wrote on my LiveJournal. FEELS LIKE HOME has raked in some swell reviews. Big thanks to Publisher's Weekly, School Library Journal, Kirkus, VOYA, to name a few. And thanks to the Teen Reviewers, Kelly Para (check out her first novel through MTV Books), and Finneytown Secondary Campus for the smashing performance with Cincinnati, Ohio's Inktank.

There are endless kudos but at least that's a start. So where have I been? Well, I've been writing like a mad woman but my summer got stacked directing two short films (www.myspace.com/livingunderlindasdesk & www.myspace.com/vanessarising) along with a feature slated for September. But I'm gearing up for a Fall of school and library visits. So, I'll definitely be around.

All the best and thanks for the read.

e.
www.bigdreamswrite.com

Here's a copy/paste from Publisher's Weekly! Hot off the press. But if you'd like to check it out in all it's glory, go to the following link: http://www.publishersweekly.com/article/CA6441102.html

e.

___________________________________________________________________

Feels Like Home
E.E. Charlton-Trujillo. Delacorte, $17.99 (224p) ISBN 978-0-385-73332-8

For fans of S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders, here's a story that is as cinematic as the book it emulates. Full of grit and poetry for the rebel with a romantic heart, Charlton-Trujillo's (Prizefighter en Mi Casa) throwback novel packs an emotional punch to the gut without overdoing it. The book opens in Three Rivers, Tex., population 4,043, as Michelle (Mickey) Owens witnesses her alcoholic father's funeral. Michelle's father was abusive, which led her mother to abandon them and her golden boy-turned-bad older brother, Danny, who ran off when Mickey was 13, after the accident that killed his best friend Roland. Now Danny has returned to pick up the pieces after six years, and the embittered Mickey, who has been marked an outcast by association, must decide if she's able to forgive him for leaving and come to terms with what happened to Roland. Mickey's internal battles feel honest, and it's easy to empathize with the litany of emotions she trudges through, though outwardly she acts headstrong and sullen. Charlton-Trujillo has created a roster of multidimensional characters; readers will hold their breath with each interactions-especially the romantic scenes between Mickey and her crush, Ricky, and her banter with her Latina best friend, Christina. Even if teens are unable to relate to the specifics of Mickey's situation, they will surely be taken by the story's winning mix of tragedy, romance and chemistry. Ages 12-up. (Apr.)

Good times all around and very, very welcoming students and staff.

I got to go out to California and see my brother (traveling from Belgium for work) and see my FIRST professional baseball game AND my first time to see an ocean. Both were the bomb! Palm trees, mexican food and good times. So sweet!

Now, in between all that traveling, I've had the privaledge of working with some incredible talented and hilarious young people from Finneytown High Secondary Campus in Cincinnati, OH. From 7th grade to 12th, I'm performing tonight at InkTank (www.inktank.org) at 8 o'clock. We'll be reading the novels new school with what we've coined a Reader's Theater Hybrid. These kids were coming off a very active theater season and jumped right in. With only three weeks of prep and all that goes into the end of the school year, they've kept their heads in the game and are bring Chapter 1 of Prizefighter En Mi Casa and Chapters 1, 5 of Feels Like Home to life.
